Who is it for?

The PhonePe HDFC Bank Uno Credit Card is a good fit for:

  • Individuals who frequently use PhonePe for recharges, bill payments, and travel bookings.
  • Those who regularly shop on major online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.
  • Users who prefer to make UPI payments and want to earn rewards on them.
  • Individuals seeking an entry-level credit card with decent cashback/rewards, especially if they are new to credit cards.

How to Apply:

The application process for the PhonePe HDFC Bank Uno Credit Card is primarily digital and is available through the PhonePe app. You will need to fill out the application form and submit relevant documents as required by HDFC Bank for KYC completion. The card is being rolled out to eligible PhonePe users in phases.

Important Considerations:

  • Reward Caps: Be aware of the monthly capping on reward points for each category (500 RPs per month for each 2% and 1% category).
  • Excluded Spends: Reward points are generally not applicable on EMI spends, fuel transactions, wallet loads, gift card purchases, cash advances, credit card fees/charges, government transactions, rental payments, education fees, insurance, investments, and jewellery purchases.
  • No Lounge Access: Unlike its premium counterpart, the PhonePe HDFC Bank Ultimo Credit Card, the Uno variant does not offer complimentary airport lounge access.

If you are a heavy PhonePe user and value cashback on your digital transactions, the PhonePe HDFC Bank Uno Credit Card can be a rewarding option, especially given that its joining fee is effectively covered by the welcome benefits.
